Gingham is a Girl's Best Friend

Y'all, my inbox has been flooded with one trend for Spring that makes me want it to be sunny and 70 degrees...
That's right, the checked pattern made with white and a bold color-the epitome of spring-time fashion.

This pattern is gorgeous in everything, as you can see above.
My favorite pieces are the bag (of course!) and the lavender button up.

The sunglass straps are also an affordable option if you're just testing the waters with patterns-plus they would make a great gift!

Which piece is your favorite?
Do you love gingham?

Until next time. . .

October: Breast Cancer Awareness

October: Breast Cancer Awareness

So far in 2014 there have been 232,570 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the U.S.
There have been 40,000 deaths related to breast cancer just in this year.
It's the second leading cancer cause in young women.

Breast cancer is a cause very dear to my heart, C's mom was diagnosed about a year ago and is thankfully on the road to remission, but we're reminded every single day & especially this month how much breast cancer effects women as a whole.

I decided on the blog today I would highlight some items (fashion, beauty, lifestyle, etc.) that donate a portion of their proceeds to research to find a cure for breast cancer. Plus, they're pretty darn cute, aren't they?

1) Tory Burch York Small Buckle Tote-$275
This is probably the most pricey item on the list, but the quality is top notch because it's TB.
Tory Burch is donating 20% of the proceeds from the sales of this gorgeous bag to breast cancer research, I can't imagine a better way to give back-that shade of pink (Carnation Red) is absolute perfection.

2) Tory Burch Kerrington Zip Continental Wallet-$185
This pretty, pink, floral print wallet (the print is called Allure) is everything a Tory wallet should be. It's got lots of pockets, perfect for stashing all of that cash *which you won't have after you purchase this, but that's beside the point* & it's great for organization.
In all seriousness, this wallet is a great splurge item. The color is so fun to pull from the inside of your bag & TB donates 20% of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

3) Pink Ribbon Tervis-$11
Y'all know I have a minor obsession with my Tervis cups, but this one is definitely a favorite. This one is extra special though because 5% of all sales go towards breast cancer research, which is awesome.
I love the super cute confetti ribbon design, it's sparkly and shiny and basically every single thing that I love in life.
These cups are seriously the bomb dot come, they don't condensate, they are great for carrying around on errands or to class (check out the lid & straw selection) & they're dishwasher washable.

4) Coach Poppy Wildflower Perfume-$68
When I read reviews of this product, I knew that it was going to be added to my wishlist for Fall. All of the reviews describe it as a comforting, soft, sweet, & sexy scent with hints of bergamot, freesia, and citrus. It's perfect for casual shopping or coffee dates during the day or a date night out with your boy.
20% of proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

5) OPI Pink of Hearts Duo-$16.95
The two polishes pictured are from the 2012 Pink of Hearts collection, but the 2014 collection is amazing as well & you can purchase it here.
The two colors are amazing & so perfect together. Plus, OPI will donate $25,000 to Susan G. Komen in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month as well as $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada.
Mod About You is a light pink cream that has perfect coverage with two coats.
The Power of Pink is dark pink & white glitter in a pink jelly base, which looks amazing layered over Mod About You.
Go buy this right now & support an amazing cause, with a fab mani.

6) Aerie Bright Pink Charley Bra-$30
This watermelon colored bra from Aerie (which is American Eagle's lingerie line) is beyond perfect for breast cancer awareness month, you can keep your love for those that are going through breast cancer close to your heart (literally!)
Plus, it comes with a pin that you can personalize with the name of someone who inspires you the most.
Plus (& how amazing is this!) 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Bright Pink (Aerie's non-profit partner, which is focused on the prevention & early detection of breast & ovarian cancer in young women, while providing support for high risk individuals).

Thank you to all of you lovely ladies for listening & I hope you go out & purchase something to support this amazing cause.
Let's save the Ta-Ta's & save more of these beautiful women that have this awful disease!

Until next time. . .
xoxo,

September Favorites

Hey y'all!

September was here & gone in the blink of an eye, wasn't it?

This was the month I got a craving for Fall & jumped in with both feet, even if it was still ninety degrees outside, sorry not sorry.

Anyways, Alabama is finally supposed to be jumping on the Fall bandwagon this weekend, so you'll finally be seeing some more cozy clothes in my posts.

These are the things I've been loving this month, it's a little bit of everything because I'm random like that.

September Favorites

3 wick candle/Essie nail polish/3 Wick-Candle/Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pen Medium Point 16 Color Set/Hempz Body Lotion/Gap open front cardigan

Bath & Body Works:
I'm going to go on & talk about both of these candles in the same little section, if that's okay?
K, cool.
It can't be officially Fall without three-wick candles from B&BW. They always have the two for $20 deal, well not always but you get it, and that's the only time I buy them. But it's so worth it.

My two current favorite scents are Warm Caramel Cider, which smells of sweet caramel, fresh apples, and a hint of vanilla & Marshmallow Fireside, which smells just like toasted marshmallows, smoky firewood, and just a bit of vanilla.

There is nothing better than curling up on the couch with Netflix, my laptop for blogging, a glass of moscato, & one of these candles burning on the coffee table.

Essie Nail Polish:

The color After School Boy Blazer is on my nails right this second. That's how much I love it. I saw people wearing it when it first came out, but I didn't decide that I had to have it until recently.
In fact, I've genuinely been afraid of dark colors on my nails-but no more.

When I picked it up at Target the other day I didn't expect to love it as much as I do, but I think it's going to be one of my Fall favorites for sure.

Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip Pens:

I fell in love with these pens after seeing them on Taylor Glenn's YouTube channel & I haven't looked back since.
These are great for taking notes, especially since they come in so many fun colors.
You already know my obsession with color coding & how I need lots of fun colors to keep my attention, so these fit the bill.

They are a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it to me if they last for as long as I've heard they do. Plus, y'all know I use coupons for everything & these pens were no different.
*Insert sassy emoji here*

Apple Chai from Starbies:

My sister, the greatest barista there ever was, turned me onto this drink as a better alternative to the PSL or even the Caramel Apple Spice.
It's so good, it tastes just like a mild cider & I love sipping it on my way home from a date night with C or while I'm shopping, specifically at TJMaxx, but that's another blog post for another day.

Try it out, the barista will probably be confused, but just tell her it's apple juice with a chai tea infusion. (Right Trystan?)

Hempz Lotion:

I had been using the Hemps lotion from Wal-Mart (which is basically the off-brand version) when I was tanning this past summer, but this is SO MUCH BETTER.

I found this at TJMaxx for only like $13 & it's pomegranate scented & I basically can't say enough good things about it. It makes my skin feel so soft.
Plus, it's made of organic ingredients...which is a good thing, right?

Check out your TJMaxx or even order it online, it's so worth spending the extra $$$ on.

 Gap Open-Front Cardi:

This cardigan is where it's at.

You saw me feature it earlier in a haul post & y'all know I only paid $18 for it. So basically it's a huge win.

This has been a go-to for me this past week when morning and evenings are cool, but the afternoons are scorchers. I love layering it over a simple tank top and pairing it with skinny jeans and my faux Jack's, comfy & put together all at the same time. :)

I'm sure I'll be pulling it out this weekend since it's finally getting nippy outside!

Well, there it is...hope y'all enjoyed my favorites from this past month!

Until next time. . .

Wednesday Wishlist

Fall Must-Haves

This morning when I stepped out onto the back porch, it felt just like a Fall morning. The balmy sixty-degree weather made me wish for pumpkin spice flavored drinks & candles, knit sweaters, and leather riding boots.

So today, I will visit the realm of Fall must-haves for this Wednesday-Wishlist & show you the things that I'm absolutely craving for the upcoming season!

This quilted riding jacket from LL Bean in black is a staple for fall and winter in the south. The reviews all say it's perfect for layering and at only $139 you can afford to splurge!

Add this LL Bean quilted riding vest for only $109 and you've got the perfect fall outfit! Everyone knows that I'm crazy for vests this fall; the J Crew Herringbone, Patagonia, and Old Navy puffers...but this quilted riding vest is too good to pass up!

I guess there's a theme to this Wednesday's Wishlist, but this Ribbed Dolman Cardigan in heather grey is perfection for Fall. It comes from American Eagle and is only $44.95. I tried this on in-store the other day and fell in love! The over-sized fit makes me want to pull it on over a tank and snuggle by the fire or pair it with a scarf & head out for a day of shopping.

Old Gringo Women's Gaylarazz Boot - Brass/Multi http://www.countryoutfitter.com/products/31430-womens-gaylarazz-boot-brass-multi #ridingboots

I'm one of those girls that believes she needs a new pair of Cowboy boots for every season & these fit the bill for Fall for sure. This pair is the Gaylarazz boot in Brass/Multi from Country Outfitter. These have a worn-in look that is perfect for pairing with sundresses and cardigans for the warmer Fall months & then you can wear skinny jeans & a vest for the cooler months! Country Outfitter also has free shipping for orders over $99, so make sure to take advantage of this and their amazing customer service.

laser cut clutch - Stylishlyme.com
This tooled leather clutch is *amazing*. I used to lean toward a cross-body bag, but lately I reach for clutches when going out on the weekends. Luckily, this bag can be both! I first found this featured on Stylishlyme and I love the way she styled it with simple cuffed jeans and a basic white tee. This is something I may definitely have to add to my wardrobe this fall! Right now it's only $30 from Sole Society!

These Tortoise Shell Icon Earrings featuring a Horsebit are adorable! These are from Swell Caroline and only $30!
Plus, when you visit the website you'll be prompted to join their email list & you'll get a free pair of earrings with your first order!
The tortoise is perfect for fall & I love the fact that all this equestrian inspired stuff is in style, perfect for me since I'm a real-life equestrian!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Wednesday Wishlist!

Tell me, what are your Must-Haves for Fall?

Until next time...

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, y'all! Even during the summertime, I can't help but be excited about Friday and what each weekend will bring. Friday Favorites are a way to officially start off my weekend right & let me show off a few of my favorite things. . .

Favorite Etsy Find:

Graduation Gift | Promotion Gift | Friend Gift | Goodbye Gift | While you're out there... Custom Hand Stamped Cuff Bracelet by Korena Loves

While perusing Etsy this week, searching for graduation gifts for my very best friend who gets her BSN tonight, I stumbled upon several other things (other than what I got her!) that I thought would make beautiful gifts for the graduate in your life. This bangle from KorenaLoves is so adorable. The inside reads, "While you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you."

Favorite Treats:

Pecan Pie Bars. Favorite go- to dessert for parties and potlucks because it's baked in a 13x9 pan instead of a 9" pie pan. It's also the first dessert to disappear! Sooo goood!

I've been looking for something sweet to make and we have a whole jar of Golden Eagle syrup just sitting in our fridge begging to be used in pecan pie (& Golden Eagle is an Alabama tradition, if you didn't know!)
This recipe came from the blog Roots, Boots, & Rambles and I cannot wait to try it out this weekend!
Make sure to check out my Pinterest board for more dessert inspiration.

Favorite Quote:

You can't rush something you want to last forever

With all of the engagements & weddings happening around me, it's easy to get caught up in the wedding fever. But, I have to remind myself sometimes that I have forever to be with C, so there's no need to rush anything. I'm learning to enjoy the here and now.
For more quotes like this one, check out my Pinterest board here

Favorite Look:

Bell Sleeve

This outfit is from the blog Covering The Bases and I have to say...I'm mildly obsessed with her blog.
This outfit is something that I can see being carried from the heavy, hot August weather here down south, all the way into early fall by switching out the shorts for skinny jeans and boots. And let's just talk about this top, it would be perfect for Auburn games on the Plains too!
Buy the top here for only $34!
Also check out more fashion finds like this on my Pinterest board here.

Favorite Photograph:

Love this shot

I know in my favorite quote above, we just talked about slowing down, enjoying the process, and not rushing what is meant to last forever. But this photo isn't really about being married. It's about those girls that are by your side. I'm so blessed to say that in the past few years, I'm truly blessed to have become best friends with the girls that will stand by my side on my big day. I love the emotion that this picture brings.
I couldn't find the original photography page and it's not watermarked, so I haven't given credit (if you know who it belongs to please comment below & I'll give credit!)

To see more engagement & wedding photography, please check out my Pinterest board for that here

I hope you enjoyed my Friday Favorites, now tell me...what are your favorites?

xoxo, SS
