Last week was one of the craziest weeks that I have had in a long, long time. There was legitimately something to be done every single day. But it meant a lot of time with my sweet husband & also with my mom and sister so that was pretty cool.
Monday, we had our 20 week sonogram and anatomy scan so we got to see our sweet little guy who is looking like a real baby now...which makes this thing even more real, y'all!

A few weeks ago I was making a return at Dick's Sporting Goods and spotted my favorite Nike shorts as buy one get one half off. Since Spring/Summer weather is finally here in Alabama, I picked up two new pairs and finally came out of my comfort zone of black on black and purchased this pretty pair for the season. They're currently $22.50 on Dick's website, so I would snatch up a few pairs for yourself too!

Tuesday & Wednesday were busy days too.
On Tuesday, we had Marlee from ALFA come to interview us & take some pictures for the June issue of Neighbors magazine (check us out if you're an ALFA insurance person!)
I've said it before, but Chris & I are one of three families that are finalists for the Outstanding Young Farm Family contest and it's just been such a fun and exciting journey so far.
On Wednesday, I had a cleaning at my dentist office & then ran some errands with my Mama before coming home for an ALFA meeting/retirement party for our favorite field-man, David Farnsworth.
After the meeting, our county president (& Alabama Senator Gerald Dial) presented us with a resolution for being one of those families chosen as one of the three finalists. It was just such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to Chris and I.

If you're a plus-sized girl like myself, you know how hard it is to find cute clothes that fit well.
I always try to hunt down fun boutiques that carry plus sizes & in that search I found Chic Soul (an online plus size boutique based out of Auburn, AL).
This dress has totally caught my eye for a few reasons; 1) Blue for Boy-duh. 2) It looks like it would work perfectly with a bump 3) I love this easy, flowy maxi style for summer-bonus; it even looks cute tied up like I wore my similar black maxi here.

If you know a Mom-to-Be...I could literally write an entire post. Scratch that, an entire blog series, on things not to say to a woman that's pregnant. But to save us all some time & to keep me off of my soapbox, I will just say one thing that so many people have asked me about is whether or not our nursery is finished.
Y'all. That room is not even empty of the furniture that is from our guest room yet. So no. It's not finished. It's not even technically started.
But I digress. It's just been a busy time in our house & while we've started gathering things for the baby, we haven't made his room a number one priority because I still have half of this pregnancy to go.
But. . .
Last Thursday, since it was raining-meaning my farming husband couldn't do very much on the farm, he decided to accompany me to Morrow, GA to the Pottery Barn Warehouse Outlet to look for some furniture for the nursery.
I've already purchased a crib, so we were looking for a glider especially (Pottery Barn's are the most comfortable ones that I have found) and a dresser.
As you can see, the selection of stuff is just massive-I wish I had taken more photos.
We ended up getting a really good deal on a glider. It's white which I didn't really want, but it will work-especially for the price we paid.
We didn't end up bringing any other furniture home, but I've got a plan in place for that stuff 😉

Y'all-Chris & I will have been married three years this May and every day, I'm thankful that we decided to get hitched. He's my very best friend & I love him...and I really, really loved our wedding day!

I read this post about couple's favorite moment's at their wedding and they were all so sweet. I think hands down, my favorite part of our wedding day would be my two first looks.
I had one with Chris, where we held hands on opposite sides of the barn doors and read letters to each other before facing each other. It was such a sweet moment.
And then the icing on the cake (& if you're a daddy's girl-I highly recommend doing this!) I did a first look with my daddy and it was everything I could've ever asked for.
We not only have amazing photos of this moment, but our videographer also captured it-so special!

I recently hit up Old Navy on a trip into town and came up with a few new pieces that I love.
I've been crossing my fingers for a beach vacay before I feel like a literal whale & when I stumbled upon this bump-friendly dress I fell in love, especially thinking about strolling around the marina in it post dinner.
I also picked up two new pairs of swim-bottoms in a high-waisted fit in a size up from my usual to accommodate the bump. This fun orange color is great for summer and of course, I had to grab a classic black pair to wear with any top in my collection.

We have been loving this patio space at our home this Spring.
We've never really used it before until we started renovations on our basement, but I cannot wait for the entire space to be furnished and complete because it's going to be the best little hangout.

So, since I'm lusting after a beach babymoon I decided to go on and pick up a few new bathing suits since I'm not sure when we'll get to go, I want to be ready.
This top is so adorable & will go with the orange or black bottoms I picked up from Old Navy. I love the ruffled shoulder action!
I've mentioned this top on Ten on Tuesday before; the lemons and the vintage cut drew me in and when I noticed it came back in stock I immediately ordered it. It's in stock in all sizes right now, so if you want it, you better order soon.
And I picked up this last top on a whim, because it was on sale for less than $10 and I knew I could just return it if it didn't work out...well it turns out, I love it too. The high neck and lace detailing are really beautiful and flattering on my figure.
This might be the first time I've ever ordered multiple pieces of swimwear and decided to keep all three!

So for Christmas, legitimately two years ago, my husband told me I could go get a massage on his dime and I never went. So this Christmas, he told me to add another one, so I've got two massages on my mental tab.
I finally made an appointment for a prenatal massage at Prestige Medical Spa (Oxford, AL) and y'all-I don't know why I put off going for so long because it was glorious!
The facilities are impeccable, the ladies who work there are SO sweet and caring, everything is just so well thought out.

Can we just stop & chat for a minute about how wonderful the weather has been lately?
I'm loving the warm afternoon temps and then the slightly cooler evening hours-it's honestly the best.
I've been trying to take walks around our neighborhood in the afternoon just to make sure I'm focusing on staying healthy.
Our neighborhood is the best because it's beside our local elementary school & is just so quiet and calm, Forrest can walk with me without a leash and I just love it.
Then when we come home from our walk, we have to take a break in the grass so he can nap for a minute. Isn't he just so cuddly?!We have been loving this patio space at our home this Spring.

The only inside picture I got is the one above, of the locker room but it's beautiful.
Then once you're in your spa robe and slippers you go into a beautiful lounge where they have snacks and spa water. My only complaint is that I didn't have to wait very long for my massage therapist because I could've sat in that lounge all day!
The massage was so nice and relaxing, I will definitely be making an appointment to go after baby as well. And if you're in Central Alabama, I highly recommend you checking out Prestige.
Until next time. . .
xoxo,
I always love to see the pictures of your wedding, they're SO pretty! And you said 20 week sonogram?! time's flying! that cute baby is gonna be here in no time. I'm so happy for you. :) It was fun reading your ten on Tuesday... And hey, I think I need to make a massage appointment, if only I can find the time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend!
