Charlie's First Fiesta

Some of the links below are affiliate links. Thank you for using these in support of Southern & Style at no additional cost to you!
It has taken me so long to finally get around to sharing the pictures and links for Charlie's birthday party and I honestly have no excuse, other than life has been insane and has taken quite a few turns-some good, some not awesome-but here we are!
I'm thrilled to share this party with y'all because I had so much fun doing it and Charlie had so much fun at the party, it was worth all of the effort that it took to put it all together.

I will say, this party was built pretty much by Amazon & a local store that my Mother-in-Law owns, I'll reference those products as we go through though and give links where I can.
Charlie's highchair is an antique & we just love it!
It made the perfect neutral backdrop for his smash cake station.
All three of these things were from Amazon & y'all-they have so many good things for great prices there!
I looked at ribbon banners on Etsy (& even thought about attempting to make one) but this was so much less expensive and was such great quality.
The Uno cake topper came in a set with a Uno banner that we used to display his monthly pictures on.
These flags made such a fun statement on our food tables.
I don't have a picture of our food once it was set up, because it arrived right as the party began.
But we had a friend cater the event and we had authentic rice & beans as well as steak and chicken for tacos with homemade corn tortillas which were so good.
There was lime and cilantro and alll the fixings-it was delish!
The tablecloths & the solid balloons all came from my Mother-in-Law's local store called Just a Buck. It's such a great shop for party supplies because everything is literally just one dollar. She also filled all of our balloons with helium!
I don't have an exact link for the cactus centerpieces (so I tagged something very similar) but ours came from Hobby Lobby and were very inexpensive!
For our drink station we kept it really simple & just did water and lemonade for the guests.
I originally purchased clear cups (on clearance at Target) but found these mix-n-match cups on Amazon at 100 cups for like $5, so I snagged those to add another fun colorful element.
I decided to do a fun book as a guest book & since we have the original Dragons Love Tacos, I picked up the sequel to have people sign for Charlie.

Sprinkle Cake by Dream Cakes in Homewood, AL
My sister was sweet enough to do all of the chalk-art for Charlie's birthday. She also created a beautiful chalk-art inspired digital download for me to hang at his party with all of his stats.
And of course she crafted his invitation and I got them printed at a local print shop-they turned out SO cute!
I highly recommend messaging her for any of your digital needs-she can create anything and everything.

Cookies by Just a Little Frosting
I absolutely loved the cookies we went with from our local bakery; they were so festive and tasted delicious as well.
I just set them up on my two dessert stands for display.
Those stands are actually three separate pieces, so they're very convenient and can be configured so many different ways!
 My precious doll-baby!
We practiced his smash cake (since he didn't like it at his one-year photoshoot) and he did so good with it at his party and ate it.
I also recommend practicing with their hat if you want them to wear one, I let Charlie wear his during breakfast a few times, so he was okay with wearing it during his cake.

I'm both sad & embarrassed to say that these are the only pictures of the three of us that I got at the party. They're actually pretty much the only pictures I got of any of us. So sad!

Our friend that catered the party actually got Charlie the most delicious birthday cake (it was tres leches-my favorite!) as well as two beautiful traditional Mexican jello mold cakes that I wish I had pictures of.
The food at this party was seriously so bomb.
We strung up both of our pinatas and let the kids go at them-they were just filled with Halloween candy mixes that I picked up at Sam's Club.
Pictured above is our friend Manuel helping Charlie hit his piñata!
Charlie's sweet friend, Anna Claire, hitting the piñata!
Honestly, Charlie and AC were both more interested in playing with the gravel than hitting the piñata or getting candy 😹

It was honestly the best party & we had so much fun with all of our friends and family.
I am grateful to have had my sweet baby boy for a full year & can't wait to celebrate him year after year!
If you have any questions, please just shoot me a comment or email @ southandstyle@outlook.com and I will help in any way that I can!
Until next time. . .
xoxo,
